Getting Started

I'm interested in starting. What can I expect?

Awesome! We can’t wait to meet you. Getting started is easy, and you’ve got some options.  First, fill out the form to the left.  A coach will contact you to set up a quick chat about your previous fitness experience and what you’re hoping to accomplish.  We can do this either in person, over the phone, or through email, whichever you would prefer.  Then, depending on what you’re comfortable with, we will get you started with some one-on-one sessions or we will have you jump in on a class.

I've never done CrossFit before. What is it?

The nerdy definition of CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement, done at relatively high intensity. What that means in plain English is we do lots of different types of workouts, combining body-weight and barbell movements, and we push ourselves as hard as we want to or can on that day.

What do I wear?

You will want to wear clothes that you are comfortable moving in. You will be getting up and down off the floor and moving quickly. Make sure they are clothes you are ok sweating in, because you will sweat! In the nicer months, we sometimes will work out outside if the weather permits it. There are tons of CrossFit-specific clothes and shoes out there, but you do not need any of that to be successful. If you are looking to upgrade the wardrobe, we can point you in the right direction.

What if I have an injury?

First off, we are sorry to hear that.  The good news is, it isn’t a problem. The beauty of CrossFit is that it can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. An elite athlete and a grandparent can workout side by side in the same class and both walk away feeling like they got a great workout that is appropriate for their individual needs and goals.  As you meet with your coach, we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries.

I've heard Crossfit is dangerous. Is it?

Anything done incorrectly can be dangerous. Our coaches are there to ensure you are moving correctly, and therefore, safely.  It is vital to listen to your coach as they teach you the correct way to move and approach workouts.  In the classes, your coach’s sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous.

This sounds amazing! How do I sign up?

Awesome! Welcome to the family. To sign up, send an email to  We will schedule an intro meeting at your convenience.  From there, you will be able to start with some one-on-one sessions, or you can opt to jump in on the regular classes.  We are so excited to watch you crush your goals!

I'm excited to start... but I'm also a little nervous.

We will let you in on a secret: everyone is a little nervous the first time around.  After all, you’re about to start something new and different.  But trust us, once you walk through those doors and start moving, you’ll see there is nothing to be worried about.  Every person that enters our gym is looking for the same thing: to be better.  Just show up, try your best, and you’ll see you’re in good company!
